December 2009 – Taverna 2.1 Workbench

  • Enhanced security support for Web services

January  2010 – SCUFL2 language specification draft

  • New Taverna workflow language specification more like SCUFL from Taverna 1.7.x to replace the current T2Flow serialisation format

January  2010 – Taverna command line tools

  • Invoking Taverna 2.1 Engine as a command line application passing a workflow to be run as a parameter
  • A better option for long running workflows

February 2010 – SCUFL2 tools Beta

  • Including conversion from T2FLOW to SCUFL2, SCUFL2 to T2FLOW and SCUFL to SCUFL2
  • The supplied compiler will convert the above formats into internal Taverna workflow representation

March 2010 – Taverna Platform 2.x Beta

  • Based on the Taverna 2.1 codebase
  • Re-engineering using OSGi based Spring Dynamic Modules to support programmatic access to the Taverna Core

April 2010 – SCUFL2 tools

  • A stabilised and fully tested version

April 2010 – Taverna Server 2.x Beta

  • Based on the Taverna Platform 2.x
  • Support for running Taverna 1.7.x and Taverna 2 workflows

May 2010 – Taverna Workbench 2.x Beta

  • New Taverna Workbench updated to use the new Taverna Platform 2.x
  • At least as functional as the Taverna Workbench 2.1
  • Will read and write SCUFL2 workflows

June 2010 – Taverna Platform 2.x

  • Hardened, debugged and tested to work with major plugins

July 2010 – Taverna Server 2.x

  • Hardened, debugged and tested to deal with interactive data requests, better job management and provenance requests

August 2010 – Taverna Workbench 2.x

  • Hardened, debugged and tested to work with major plugins

September 2010 -  Taverna Next Generation Workbench Alpha

  • Easier to use, more slick, Web 2.0 design meets 3D rendering
  • More easily customisable for vertical markets (e.g. domain specific packs of services, patterns, examples)
